These apples come together to form a gourd patch of the Virginia chapter of the American Gourd Society, the Virginia Lovers' Gourd Society. Crackled Apples apply their gourd knowledge and curiosity to unique, offbeat, and sometimes just plain strange gourdy dicoveries.

Dappled Apples at the Discovery Museum!
For three months - April through June, several of the Gourdacious Dappled Apples gourd patch members have been artists-in-residence at the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum. While this creative bunch was there, lots of education happened! Lots of creation happened! Lots of gourd encouragement happened! We'll show some of the projects, post by post, but wow! To be a gourd artist in a studio devoted to the hard-shelled gourd! Awesome crackling fun!

ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiring burst of creativity! The Dappled Apples team must have brought so much energy and imagination to the Discovery Museum—three months surrounded by gourds, art, and curious minds sounds absolutely magical. It’s wonderful to see a space where education and artistic expression come together so effortlessly. The excitement practically crackles off the page!
ReplyDeleteAs an Electrical Engineering Consultant, I’m always fascinated by spaces that encourage hands-on learning and spark new ideas—this residency sounds like it did exactly that. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming project posts!
